Aerobic Exercise
Aerobic exercise is exercise with oxygen. This includes slow exercise.

Running slowly or walking is aerobic. As long as you can carry on a conversation during your exercise, it is aerobic. Sprinting is anaerobic.

Aerobic exercise for long periods of time (20 minutes or more) helps keep your circulatory and respiratory systems healthy.

  • It builds up endurance.
  • It makes the heart stronger.
  • It enables blood to carry more oxygen.
  • It enables blood to flow* through blood vessels more easily.
It is important for everyone to get this type of exercise on a regular basis.
